Recently, I received an email from Ubisoft about the up coming 2nd Anniversary for The Crew. Sadly, I don't meet the requirements to collect the car, a Lamborghini Huracán, nor the exclusive 2 year anniversary sticker. However, it seems that there is something else going on here
Code: DKNBLFW
As I mentioned in another post, my wife was able to collect all Forza 10th Anniversary cars for the Xbox One, which were:
Back around Valentines Day, 2014, I updated my Real Racing client on my phone and was rewarded with a 1972 Porsche 911 Carrera RS 2.7 with a Anniversary livery. Now, a player can go to the ingame store, spend 4 Gold and put it on theirs.
The following year, the same thing again, this time with a 2013 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1. Like the Porsche before. players can just buy the livery for the same machine.
I missed out on the 2013 Aston Martin DB9 giveaway for 2016. You can't catch them all, I guess.
Another missed opportunity was the Year One Porsche in Need for Speed World, dating back to July of 2011. When this tier 3 car came out, I wasn't even playing the game yet (I joined in October, a few months later). When acquired (5500 SpeedBoost put one in a player's garage in later years), it came equipped with decent parts and a player design livery. Now, I wanted to see what I was missing out on....
The hype and buildup for the release of the Year Two "Mystery Car" whipped the Need for Speed World community into a fever pitch (I might be exaggerating slightly, but anybody who was around July 2012 remembers the times....). Unlike the Year One Porsche, what would turn out to be the Chevrolet Camaro was free (if you had an open garage slot) and was rather boring, no parts or special livery. It was up to the players to decorate the car any way the saw fit (as long as it didn't break any EULA rules), including the free, but limited time use Year Two Vinyl Pack.
Here is mine recreated, based on the limitations of the current Offline client (sadly, there are no Year Two decals) and a failing memory....
For July of 2013, there wasn't much of an Anniversary celebration to speak of. A few car and SpeedBoost package sales and some mentions on the portal and forums, but that was about it. A very quiet and somber affair.
However, one car that would have fit the bill was released during the "could have been" event was the Stirling Moss Mercedes. Costing 8,000 SpeedBoost, it was one of the more expensive cars in the game, at the time.
The final car for any Anniversay event in Need for Speed World was the BMW "Flexor" Edition. Released as a limited time code, this car would mark an end of a short lived era.
