Real Racing 3 - Porsche GT3 R

Although I was given a five day time limit to collect the Porsche GT3 R in Real Racing 3, I got it done with a little time to spare.

With previous "storyline events," my success rate was....let's call it "hit or miss."

I is was totally not prepared for the Track Day Event. One of the reasons was a serious lack of the new ingame currency known as M$ and what I did earn, I blew it into upgrades that didn't seem to help much, despite the increase in Performance Rating.

Another reason for not securing a McMaren Senna was the introduction of drafting (while it is used in other game modes, I haven't experienced it quite on this level) in order to make any serious progress advancement.

This time, I played as much as I could and saved up a lot of M$ from when the last event ended and was just plain determined to park that Porsche GT3 R in my garage (applying all the drafting lessons I learned). My original plan was to do another race-by-race video, but decided to go with where I race and crash while nodding off, then collecting the main prize of the event....

Real Racing 3 - Road To Le Mans, Stage 4

As the title suggests, I challenge all the events for this stage of the Road To Le Mans series, first with the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG GT3 and finish with the Lamborghini Gallardo LP560 GT3.

Behind The Wheel - The Drive North, Again

Another video of traveling north through British Columbia, this time with Clinton, most of Williams Lake and Hudson's Hope, complete with technical errors.

It was my hope that I could finally take care of my "battery problem" I discovered from the last northern expedition, when I purchased two aftermarket power cells and a combo home/car charger. Before I set off this time, I made very sure that all three batteries had a full charge and was confident this trip was going to be a "lesson learned" experience.

I guess there were more lessons to be taught....

The Crew 2 - Forever Ferrari, Part 3

For my final chapter of Forever Ferrari in The Crew 2, I went with the legendary F40 to complete the remaining events.

Sadly, the camera's weren't fully rolling for the last, afterthought idea I had....

The Crew 2 - Forever Ferrari, Part 2

I consider myself to be rather fortunate to live where I am, since I get to see vehicles for real that others can only see in movies, TV shows, social media or in video games. However, I have to be pretty quick with a camera or another image capture device to a picture to back up my claims.

Take this Ferrari 488 Pista for example. I know a few of my real world friends would never believe me when I tell them I have seen and been very close to this car, outside the virtual realm. Although they could dispute my claim I took the picture myself and if it got that far, I wouldn't waste any effort trying to convince them otherwise. I was there, I took the shot and shared it. End of that story.

Speaking of the virtual world, I return to the Live Summit in The Crew 2 with the Ferrari 599XX Evo at a race track in Jersey City, I check out their version of the Ferrari 812 Superfast in a very long New York to San Francisco trip and ending it off with the Ferrari 488 Pista in an event wasn't anything I was expecting it to be....

The Crew 2 - Forever Ferrari, Part 1

Another Live Summit in The Crew 2 and this time, it's an all Ferrari event.

Although I took part in the last Live Summit called Bling....

....I didn't invest in buying the car pack in any serious attempt to complete all the events.

Despite the fact I am not a real big Ferrari fan (there have been a few cars over the years they made I like), I just couldn't resist saving credits and wait for this particular showcase. I collect a 1987 Ferrari F40 for a little Street Racing action along the West Florida Coast, a F12berlinetta for the streets of San Francisco and for the Miami Everyzon Track....

....that 599XX Evo will do nicely.

Need for Speed World - 5 Years Later

It was the first free-to-play, MMO racing game that was published by a major gaming studio and killed off too soon.

Need for Speed World was launched back in 2010 and introduced the gaming community to what was quite possibly the largest open world map for a racing game (I don't have the exact square miles/kilometers, but would love to know) for free (except for those who "bought in" early with Starter Packs). A new player could advance through the system without spending a single cent, but the time investment and physical toll could be pushing unknown thresholds (EA was banking on the "pay-to-win" option for those who didn't have the time or stamina to do it for free and they collected big time).

Despite the development/update bugs, cheating and exploiters and mismanagement on both the forums and the game near the end, Need for Speed World is still fondly remembered by millions (not an exaggeration) of people around the real world, even after the online servers shut down in 2015.

However, as time goes on, those memories are fading, replaced by game such as The Crew/The Crew 2, Forza Horizon series, Gran Turismo and many other racing titles. Other have left the genre all together.

An online group has made a very good attempt to create a NFSW offline version and if you want to give it a try yourself, click here to download (I strongly recommend turning off any anti-virus software before installing and playing the game, the "false positives" will quarantine/delete necessary files needed to play).

Here's how things look after I hit the "reset button" on a former life....

Behind The Wheel, The Drive South

Much like my first travel video, I had high hopes and expectations for the end result.

Not that long ago, I bought a Canon ELPH 360 HS is serve as my main video camera. With a decent built-in microphone and 1080p video quality, I thought I was getting a pretty good deal on a name brand product (unlike the cheap, Chinese knockoffs I had been eyeing up and bought).

The major issue, thus far, has been the battery. Despite a full charge before I start recording, the battery runs out of power fairly quickly, maybe capturing a little over an hour of footage before going dead.

A minor issue has been the camera just turning itself off sporadically. No clue what that is all about.

Nevertheless, my wife has heard my complaints about this and ordered me a new toy to experiment with. Until that arrives, I read the instructions and try it out, here's another road trip video (covering Fort St John, Taylor Bridge, Chetwynd and a few parts south) with the ELPH 360 HS and it's issues....

Missed Two, Got One

Despite my best efforts and spending too much of my banked up Gold, I fell very short of the goal in the last McLaren event in Real Racing 3. No Senna for me.

The trickle down effect of that means that my prospects for collecting a 570GT in the current event is not looking very likely either.

However, I was lucky enough to have enough Credits in the bank to buy a P1 along the way and race it at Nürburgring Mullenbach....
