One good thing about Twitter, I don't have to start over from scratch. After reviewing the details on my hardly used account and exercising the ability to make some changes (like picking a name out of all the already-used-alternatives), viola, re-branded to go forward. Check out it here.
Of course, since I want to get into more real world content, it only made sense to create a new YouTube channel to showcase all of the future presentations I will be creating. That can be seen here.
Next, I tagged on a Facebook group to see if I could generate any interest from family and friends, see that here (you will have to be logged in to poke around).
As for a new blog, I am not really sure at this point, but I have no intention of shutting this one down either. I still plan on getting the odd driving game in, here and there, or might remember some past automotive adventure and want to share that.
Interesting times these will be, driving down this unmapped road....
When I first started Behind The Wheel, both the blog and channel on YouTube, it was to be a written word/video capture of my journey through the virtual automotive universe online. Through various current and past titles, such as Need for Speed World, Shift2, Real Racing 3 and Forza Motorsports 6 to name a few, I was able to relive good times from the past and make new memories for the future.
In fact, here is one more event to remember, finally collecting the Aston Martin Vanquish from The Crew recently, after not playing it for many, many months....
Along the way, I encountered certain circumstances that awoke some long forgotten real life experiences I had and was able to piece together some of those memories back together and share them here. All that and I have only just scratched the surface on how many vehicles I have owned over the years (that number is almost shameful).
Despite my devotion to virtual motorsports, I also carried on with other game genres, such as aerial combat (namely World of Warplanes) and ground based, vehicular assault units (a long way of saying Armored Warfare) and just drifted away from racing games, focusing on playing and writing more about those titles instead. Even my real life interest in cars was fading like the sunset....
The last time I spent any time here was a couple of write ups about the Dodge Dart, both buying one and a general overview of the short lived nameplate return. Since then, I have been absent, rediscovering my love of real life driving, for cars in general and finding myself become a reborn motorist. This has also been a time of another awakening....
Partly inspired by big budget, mainstream TV shows like Top Gear, Fifth Gear and The Grand Tour and seeing the successful following of no budget, amateur productions on YouTube, I have decided to pursue a dream I have had for many years.
Using my experience of putting together gameplay videos, picking angles that capture the moment, learning how to edit and score productions and most importantly, slowing gathering up the equipment to make it all happen, I will take a leap into the real world automotive scene and pursue my true passion....
....capturing my love of cars and driving, then sharing that with anyone who wants to see it.
